Telescope Making debuted in 1978 in response to Astronomy magazine readers’ demand for more information about how to build telescopes. In the premiere issue, Editor Richard Berry explained the magazine’s mission: “We see TM as a magazine that will help people share their ideas and learn from each other.
... You, and the telescopes you build, are its subject.” Telescope Making ran quarterly until 1992.
